Forough Absalan
born in 1984 in Iran, is based between Berlin and Oslo. She holds an MA in Art in Context from UdK Berlin and BA from Tehran art university in textile and costume design. Through multisensory installations, she integrates and transforms local textile craft techniques, redefining them as a dynamic medium for critical discourse. Employing with a research-based and autoethnographic approach, she explors the intersections of migration, memory, and social transformation — investigating how inherited Oral knowledge can serve as living archives of both personal and collective histories. Her projects often invite participation, creating shared spaces for making and remembering.
