A short story Presented through autofiction and autoethnography methods and intertwines the steps of cooking with the quiet resilience of Iranian women in their daily struggles. Set in the kitchen, each stage of preparing the rice serves as a metaphor, representing the real-life challenges faced by Iranian women, as collected from BBC-Farsi news reports.
The installation features ready-made kitchen towels, each one hung using strands of hair. These towels are embroidered with text and include QR codes that link to news articles and reports, encouraging audience interaction with relevant media coverage.
The story was written in 2022, just before the Jina/Mahsa revolution—also known as the 'Women, Life, Freedom' movement in Iran. The installation was created in 2023.
